Jordan Brand has unveiled a 30th-anniversary Space Jam collection, and the centerpiece is not one Air Jordan 11 but three. The original "Space Jam" 11 returns in a premium build true to the pair Michael Jordan wore in the 1996 film, now finished with movie Easter eggs.

Joining it are two new takes. A bronze-ish, color-shifting "Magic Ball" 11 nods to the film's cartoon energy, while a tonal "Green Screen" pair plays on the backdrops young creators use to build virtual worlds. Both hold modern details and finishes absent from the 1996 original.

The collection lands on Nike's website on November 6, and the docuseries follows nine days later on November 15. It spans far more than sneakers: Space Jam also gets Air Jordan 11 cleats, Air Jordan 1 Golf shoes, Jordan First 1s, Jordan 3s, and apparel that runs from sport to streetwear.

Why three versions of one shoe

The reasoning is with the consumer Jordan Brand now serves. The 1996 movie introduced the shoe to kids who watched it in theaters; the buyers of 2026 grew up online, and many never saw Michael Jordan play. The brand says the reference points have to move with them.

"Think about all the content creation that's going on, kids using these backdrops to create these invisible worlds," said Terrance Harvey, who oversees Jordan's retro releases. "Imagine that kid that's using a green screen. He can pick his AJ11 and turn it into whatever moment he's trying to create."

"It's more about the experience that they can feel around the product and less about telling them another narrative about MJ," Harvey added. The green screen concept, in other words, is less a gimmick than a literal invitation for buyers to finish the story themselves.

That marks a deliberate shift in how the house frames its history. "We're Jordan Brand at the end of the day, so there will always be product, synergy, and momentum built around MJ himself," Harvey said, "but we also know we have an obligation to push this brand 40 years from today's moment."

"Today's Jordan consumer is totally different from what it was five to ten years ago," he continued. Today's youth "haven't had the chance to see him play," and so the brand is threading new stories that are "respectful of their worlds" rather than retreading the old ones.

A multi-sport range, not just a shoe

The range is the widest Space Jam has received.

Harvey framed the expansion as a bet on where those buyers already live. "It's not just offering the consumer an AJ11 or the OG colorway," he said. "It's about what other worlds they are in. That's why we offered the cleat, golf shoe, and apparel across sports and streetwear."

"We got something for you that's still tied to the Space Jam vibe and still relevant to the moment," he added. The apparel line extends the same logic into clothing, so the drop can be worn as a coordinated look rather than collected as a single shoe.

The launch was teased at a two-day event called "Welcome to the Jam" in Los Angeles. Roughly 48 hours of programming opened with a beachside dinner serving movie-themed cocktails and a private screening, before the centerpiece event on October 8 at the Jordan Dome in Inglewood.

Inside the dome, the brand built an exhibition of never-before-seen cartoon sketches and film memorabilia. A panel gathered stylist Aleali May, WNBA star Azzi Fudd, Jordan's longtime trainer Tim Grover, and Howard White, described as the godfather of the Jordan Brand.

Music closed the night Cactus Jack artist SoFaygo performed and Travis Scott made an appearance. Jordan Brand then announced the evening's last surprise: a six-part mini docuseries titled Beyond the Jam, covering the making of Space Jam, set to debut on YouTube on November 15.

What the reissue competes against

The three new 11s sit atop a silhouette we have covered closely on Luxe Digital. We have styled the Cool Grey Jordan 11 as a clean, monochrome option, and the release now gives the retro line three colorways to collect around a single anniversary moment rather than one.

The house leans on our wider Jordan coverage too, from the Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 4 lookbooks to the Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 5 guides that trace how the line is worn across streetwear. The Space Jam drop extends that archive rather than starting a new one.

The docuseries follows nine days later, on November 15, which gives the collection a second act past the checkout page and into the brand's own retelling of how the film got made.
