Audemars Piguet has launched Royal Oak Joaillerie, a full high jewelry collection built from the design codes of its Royal Oak bracelet. The line opens with the Dream of Joux necklace, a tie-style piece in white gold and anodized blue titanium that carries 42 pear-shaped diamonds of around 63 carats in total.

Those diamonds are set alongside 1,670 blue sapphires of more than five carats in total, so the centerpiece leans on the Vallée de Joux landscape of the watchmaker's home. Frozen lakes and local flowers run through the collection, grounding the octagonal geometry of the Royal Oak in the Jura.

Matching earrings are topped with eight pear-shaped diamonds, each between 1.5 and 3 carats, and finished with 196 blue sapphires. The Risoud Eclipse necklace and cuff, named for a nearby forest, move the palette toward blackened titanium and white gold with sugarloaf emeralds.

The Risoud necklace carries five of those emeralds at around 16.5 carats in total, and the cuff holds three more at around 12 carats, both pieces scattered with diamonds. Six jeweled cuffs round out the statement pieces, each pushing the octagonal motif in a different direction.

The Sunburst Royal Oak cuff is a spray of orange and yellow sapphires with spessartites, while the Blueberries cuff is the most literal of the line, a blueberry bush branch worked in 506 leaf-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds, 19 amethyst cabochons and 16 black spinel cabochons.

Beyond the statement pieces, the collection includes more wearable chokers and cuffs in the maison's signature Frosted Gold finish, the hammered, shimmering surface Audemars Piguet pioneered with jeweler Carolina Bucci in 2016. These pieces are meant for everyday wear and for pairing with a client's existing Royal Oak.

Audemars Piguet is best known as a watchmaker, and its watches start at around $17,000, while the most expensive can reach over $100,000. Jewelry is a different territory, but the house has worked it before, and for a long time.

Since the nineteenth century the maison has produced pendant and ring watches in tandem with houses such as Tiffany, Cartier and Bulgari. In the 1980s it opened its own jewelry workshop, and for its 125th anniversary it built a Baroque cuff watch set with diamonds and yellow and pink sapphires.

More recently, collectors will recall the punk-style Diamond Trilogy secret watch collection of 2015 to 2017. Royal Oak Joaillerie arrives at a moment when the wider market is favoring jewelry over fashion, with customers seeing the category as an investment.

Morgan Stanley cut its 2026 luxury growth estimate to 2.5 percent in May, while macroeconomic uncertainty and the conflict in the Middle East continue to dampen the outlook. Customers are moving into what is described as a flight to quality.

That shift is visible at rival groups: Richemont's jewelry maisons posted 24 percent growth in the quarter ending June 30. Colored stones are trending across high jewelry, and the emeralds and sapphires that define Royal Oak Joaillerie step straight into that demand.

Why the maison moved beyond the watch

The collection's origin is the house's own clients, and specifically the popularity of its 23 mm Royal Oak Mini. More women are buying jewelry for themselves, and Audemars Piguet noticed how they were wearing its smallest watch.

Chief executive Ilaria Resta put it plainly: "We saw clients stacking and wearing them almost as jewelry, which showed us that there was a very contemporary way of living with the Royal Oak beyond the watch itself."

The design brief that followed was not to copy familiar codes. "Rather than reproducing familiar Royal Oak codes, we looked at the bracelet almost as an object in its own right and asked how its geometry, rhythm and movement could translate into jewelry," Resta said. "That opens up a different creative space for us."

We have covered this ground before: we reported on Audemars Piguet's first jewelry line built on the Royal Oak bracelet, and the Joaillerie collection is the fuller expression of that same idea. A dedicated Royal Oak jewelry collection is another attempt at diversification.

In our ranking of the best luxury watch brands, Audemars Piguet is in the holy trinity with Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin, just below Rolex, which we place first for build quality, value retention and recognition. A jewelry line adds a second track to that heritage.

The source gives no prices for the pieces, no run sizes and no retail rollout or date for wider availability. Audemars Piguet has also not said whether the line will be one-off or recurring.
