Aston Martin has introduced the 2027 DBX GT, a new version of its super-SUV that carries the same 717 horsepower as the DBX S but aims at luxury and comfort rather than aggression. The company says the GT will start reaching customers in the fourth quarter of this year.

The DBX GT joins the DBX S in the 2027 lineup, while the DBX 707 is retired. Aston Martin added the DBX S for the 2026 model year, and the GT arrives as the DBX enters its seventh year on sale.

Pricing is the awkward gap. Aston Martin has not announced what the DBX GT will cost, so any figure is speculation. One US estimate puts the starting price at around $290,000, but that is a guess and not a number from the company.

What changes outside

The exterior is cleaner than the DBX S. The wide grille drops its mesh for a series of horizontal bars, offered in bright and dark finishes, and those lines repeat beside the horizontal LED daytime running lights at the outer edges of the bumper.

The lower grille opening skips the red trim of the S. The two-piece metal strake in the front fender gets a more graceful finish, part polished and part satin, while the lower front bumper, side sills and rear diffuser are painted body color rather than black.

The GT rides on new 22-inch wheels in Satin Titanium, wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Zero all-season tires as standard. A sportier package of 23-inch wheels with Pirelli P-Zero summer tires is available for owners who want it.

At the back, the new quad exhaust pipes are arranged side by side instead of one above the other. Aston Martin says a unique exhaust tune gives a "cleaner, richer tone", a deliberate contrast with the louder character of the DBX S.

A cabin built for comfort

Inside, the main change is ornate new embroidery on the seats. The stitching climbs the sides, framing the shoulder pads and headrest. Front and rear seats also gain a 0.4-inch-thick layer of memory foam for extra cushioning.

In the rear, the two outboard seats look more like separate seats thanks to more pronounced bolstering, while the middle seat is upholstered in a different color. Trim is richer too, including an anodized metal drive mode dial and deep pile floor mats.

Aston Martin says it cut cabin noise through improvements to the body structure, extra sound-deadening in the door panels and wheel arches, and acoustic laminated rear side glass. A panoramic glass roof is standard on the GT.

Same engine, different tuning

The DBX GT uses the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 from the DBX S, making 717 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. Aston Martin says it matches the S with a 3.1-second sprint to 60 mph and a 193-mph top speed.

Carbon-ceramic brakes handle stopping, with 16.5-inch discs at the front and 15.4-inch discs at the rear. The performance numbers are unchanged from the S, so the differences lie in how the car rides and responds.

The suspension is unique to the GT. Reworked dampers are meant to absorb bumps on rough roads while keeping body control at speed, and two new longitudinal dampers are fitted between the body and the rear subframe.

Aston Martin also revised the throttle pedal feel for better precision and retuned the nine-speed automatic for smoother shifts. A new transmission mount bushing is meant to better control the movement of the transmission relative to the body.

Aston Martin is among the marques in our guide to the best British car brands. Its largest shareholder is Lawrence Stroll's Yew Tree Consortium, alongside Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Geely and Mercedes-Benz.

Aston Martin, McLaren and Bugatti entered our ranking of the most popular luxury car brands online. The DBX GT puts the company's SUV on the comfort side of that competition, with deliveries due in the fourth quarter.
