The Attico founders Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini launched Superattico10 on Tuesday, a special capsule collection marking the brand's first decade. Alongside the launch, the pair opened a temporary store in Milan that will run for just over four months before handing over to the spring 2027 line.

The project is the second installment of a see-now, buy-now range the duo first presented in September 2021, which took in 14 one-of-a-kind pieces heavy in feathers, marabou, metallic sequins, fringes, crystal embellishments and intricate embroideries. This round follows the same instinct, looking back at the label's most distinctive shapes and reworking them.

Ambrosio described the capsule in the founders' own terms. "With Superattico10, we wanted to revisit the spirit that has defined The Attico since the beginning," she said, naming a celebration of women, their individuality, confidence and freedom of self-expression, while adding that a decade shows how much remains to be explored.

The Attico launched with eveningwear and made its name on boudoir-meets-glitzy party pieces before growing into a fuller wardrobe of workwear-inflected looks, denim, sartorial tailoring, beachwear and accessories. The new capsule charts that arc and leans on the founders' own favorite pieces.

Among them are the boudoir-inspired robe Tordini has favored since the very first collection, revisited repeatedly over the years, and Ambrosio's preferred chandelier dresses. Across the range, tailoring and sensual silhouettes are cut with transparencies, ruching, embroideries and feathered or sequined finishes.

The brand's accessories range also expands for the anniversary. La Passeggiata Mini arrives in new colorways, and a smaller format of the La Sant Ambroeus handbag joins, named for the enduring charm of Milanese sciuras, or ladies. Prices span 900 euros for footwear and 1,300 euros for bags.

The most intricate apparel climbs to around 7,000 euros a piece. The collection sells through the brand's own e-commerce as well as the new Milan store. Archive Srl, the independent investment company controlled by Ruffini Partecipazioni Holding, has held a 49 percent stake in The Attico since 2018.

Bestsellers today run from the Anja bomber jacket to the Fern cargo pants, the latter adopted by the founders' ultimate muse, Cher. The capsule's mix of high and low, day and night, oversize and body-con, tomboyish and feminine, is a balance Ambrosio's ebullience and Tordini's poise have long struck.

The temporary store is at Via Adalberto Catena 1, a stone's throw from the city's Golden Triangle. The 430-square-foot space is dressed in velvet curtains and a zebra-print rug meant to evoke the intimate, theatrical atmosphere of Casa Museo Mollino in Turin, the location tied to the label's creative vision since its seminal 2016 collection.

The Attico

The founders set Superattico10's campaign at the original Turin space, shooting with photographer Drew Vickers against interiors conceived by architect Carlo Mollino. In Milan, the store adds custom-made display elements in glossy black lacquer and design pieces that tighten The Attico's ties to the city's furniture legacy.

Those pieces include the Caori table by Vico Magistretti and the Olinto by Kazuhide Takahama for B&B Italia. Mocha-colored taffeta curtains frame the fitting rooms and chocolate-toned carpeting rounds out the immersive fit-out, echoing the mohair textures of the label's language in stone and cloth.

Tordini tied the store to the label's origins. "Ten years ago, The Attico was born in Milan from a shared vision and a desire to create something that felt entirely our own," she said. Milan, she added, has always been part of the brand's identity, which makes opening the space to celebrate the anniversary particularly meaningful.

She recalled the founders' first temporary retail space at Larusmiani in 2018, when the brand was two years old. "Coming back to this idea eight years later, with our own space in the heart of the city, feels like a beautiful full-circle moment," Tordini said.

What the temporary store carries next

After Superattico10 sells through, the Milan store will carry the spring 2027 collection paraded during Milan Fashion Week last month. Titled "Quando Nessuno Guarda," or "When No One Looks," the show explored character and the sense of empowerment the founders have always instilled in a bold aesthetic that refuses a single idea of womanhood.

That show also debuted a new bag named L'Altra di Milano, "The Other of Milan," while the after-party furthered the brand's longstanding relationship with Nike. The tie-in took form as a limited-edition rendition of the new Studio Fleece Heavyweight design.

For our coverage of style, the capsule lands in familiar company. Where Byredo and Iittala drew Nordic light into glass and scent, and Loewe and On built performance wear for working artists, The Attico is closing its first decade by reissuing the pieces that defined it, now restocked with new colorways and a smaller handbag.

The full-circle line runs the other direction too. The spring 2027 collection and its Nike collaboration give the temporary store a second act once the anniversary capsule sells out, stretching the Milan presence from this week into next spring.
