Victor Kan's collaboration on the Timberland Euro Hiker gets one more chance Monday, when the Gore-Tex-lined boot returns to timberland.com for its final release. The first run sold through on Saturday at Third of June, the New York boutique Kan owns.

The release carries a retail price of $195 and an official colorway of Olive Suede/Gray, under style code TB0A2N24APC. It goes on sale through Timberland's own e-commerce store, closing out a drop that moved within a day through Kan's shop.

Kan framed the project as a deepening of a long relationship. He wrote on Instagram that after working with Timberland closely for over a decade as a buyer and collaborator for various boutiques, he is now working with the brand under his own name.

The Euro Hiker is his canvas. In his description, the first iteration combines taupe suede and burgundy nubuck in muted shades, with silver mesh beneath. A Gore-Tex lining sits inside, and the boot rides on a blacked-out midsole and outsole.

The model predates Kan's pair by decades. Timberland introduced the Euro Hiker in 1988 as a day-hiking boot with a lightweight, sneaker-like build, made to be nimbler than the brand's heavier long-haul boots.

Kan's version adds a designer-inspired flair to that typically rugged form. It also marks his first individual branded release, a first for a career built mostly inside other people's stores and under other people's names.

He brings more than 13 years of industry experience to the project. Kan started as a footwear buyer at Kith, then became a buyer and brand director at Packer, the Teaneck, New Jersey retailer, where he spent eight years before taking ownership of Third of June.

The boot arrives mid-fall, a busy stretch for Timberland, whose classic Premium 6-inch Waterproof Boot usually draws the noise. The Euro Hiker, iconic yet sometimes overlooked, now shares some of that attention through Kan's curated update.

What the boot is built from

The upper works muted taupe suede against burgundy nubuck panels, with silver mesh showing through as underlay. Gore-Tex is the lining, which keeps weather out without the weight of a full leather build. The online pair swaps the palette for olive suede and gray.

The underfoot is deliberately darkened, with a blacked-out midsole and outsole that let the earthy upper colors carry the look. At $195 the boot carries the Gore-Tex name Timberland uses as its promise of protection, in a style built for day hikes.

The wider Timberland run this fall

Timberland has been broadening beyond its best-known boot lately. Recent drops include a men's and women's Día de Muertos pack, studded styles made only for women, and boat shoes covered in croc print from a Jacquemus collaboration. The Kan collaboration joins that list.

We have covered Timberland's footwear from the working end of the range too. Our guide to the best work boots for men ranks pairs from Timberland, Caterpillar, Salomon and others on comfort, durability and steel-toe protection.

Our roundup of shoes for standing all day put Timberland's PRO Powertrain forward for warehouse and factory shifts, where anti-fatigue cushioning, slip-resistant outsoles and alloy safety toes answer concrete floors. The Euro Hiker was built for trails and daylight instead.

Kan's collaboration is one of several special editions Timberland has delivered by the halfway point of the season, and the fast Saturday sell-through at Third of June suggests the online run may not linger long either.

The Monday drop is the last window announced for the collaboration. After the release from timberland.com, the Olive Suede/Gray pair closes out a boot that has moved once through a boutique and once through the brand itself.
