Acqua di Parma is opening the doors of a fictional hotel for its Holiday 2026 collection, which also stretches past scent into two Italian-made design objects under its Art of Living line. The Italian fragrance house, celebrating its 110th anniversary, built the assortment around the Grand Hotel Sprezzatura, an imagined alpine retreat.
The collection is a collaboration with Agostino Iacurci, a multidisciplinary Italian artist. His visuals draw on the Dolomites and on sprezzatura, the Italian art of making even elaborate gestures look effortless. Prices run from $65 for the 70-gram Bosco candle to $1,022 for the Advent Calendar.
Iacurci borrows from the stage traditions of Commedia dell'Arte, imagining a cast of hotel characters whose personalities come through in bold geometric compositions. Built on the modular logic of Tangram puzzles, the illustrations stack architectural facades, mountain silhouettes, expressive masks and playful figures across the packaging.
Rendered in vivid yellows, oranges, blues and earthy tones, the designs push Acqua di Parma's signature look through a festive, surrealist lens. The result reads as an interconnected series of visual stories capturing the warmth and eccentricity of an imaginary Italian mountain getaway.
The limited-edition Masterpiece ceramics
The centerpiece is a run of limited-edition Masterpiece objects, each named for a fictional hotel protagonist: Alfredo, Clementina and Tobia. Made by hand and painted in Tuscany, the ceramics take the form of refillable fragrance bottles, candles and diffusers, with stacked geometric shapes, sculptural finials and silhouettes modeled on the characters.
Each Masterpiece is produced in an edition of just 200 pieces and bears both Iacurci's signature and the maison's branding. The brief gives no price for the individual ceramics, so the $65 to $1,022 range quoted for the collection cannot be mapped onto them.
The wider assortment introduces seasonal home fragrances in Bosco, Panettone and Torrone, evoking an Italian winter through woodland landscapes and traditional festive sweets. Candles and diffusers arrive in decorated glass vessels with distressed gold-leaf detailing.
Three signature fragrances receive special Designer Edition packaging for the season: Colonia Il Profumo, Buongiorno and Zafferano. The Advent Calendar is the most elaborate piece, rebuilt as a miniature hotel with stacked cylindrical architecture, opening windows, snowy trees, alpine scenery and eccentric guests.
Additional gift sets span the Colonia, Blu Mediterraneo, Buongiorno and Signatures of the Sun collections, offering selections of fragrances, candles and personal care essentials. That covers the house's foundational cologne as well as its Mediterranean and sun-inspired lines.
Beyond fragrance
The Olé Pocket Comb & Mirror is the first of the two design objects, pairing tortoiseshell-look resin accessories with a tan calfskin leather charm and a yellow resin sphere that serves as the house's signature touch.
The second, the Decidi Tu Polyhedric Glass Object, is mouth-blown borosilicate glass made for several uses. It can hold stick candles or matches, or stand in as a vessel for fragrance diffuser reeds, so it works on a desk as well as a mantel.
The fictional hotel gives the whole assortment one narrative, from the ceramic Masterpieces to the pocket comb and mirror. Sprezzatura, the name of the hotel, is also the concept of studied nonchalance, which suits an anniversary line that aims to make the elaborate feel natural.
Anniversary collaborations have been a theme in our coverage of style this season, from The Attico's tenth-anniversary capsule with a temporary Milan store to Byredo and Iittala's Ljus glass and scent collection. Acqua di Parma adds a named artist shaping every surface of the packaging.
The collection is available now through Acqua di Parma's physical boutiques and its official website. Nothing in the announcement says how long the ceramics will stay on sale beyond their 200-piece editions, or whether the Grand Hotel Sprezzatura concept will return after the holidays.
