Need a unique e-bike that’s ready to go wherever you are - for an affordable price?

One of our favorite e-bike brands, Rad Power Bikes, is ready to help with a (if we do say so ourselves) rad lineup of fun, fast, and stylish e-bikes.

Rad Power Bikes was founded by Ty Collins and Mike Radenbaugh. It’s a US-based e-bike company that brings practical, accessible electric bikes to everyday commuters. They’re “built for everything and priced for everyone”—a breakthrough idea in a market crowded with e-bikes built for niche markets that come with high price tags.

RadRunner 1 Electric Utility Bike

rad power bikes review radrunner - Luxe Digital

If you’re a city dweller who’d like an e-bike to use daily for moderate mileage, the RadRunner is ready to be your go-to. It’s a small but mighty bike that has a durable aluminum frame with a steel fork.

The steel helps bring the price down, which makes the RadRunner one of the more affordable in the Rad Power Bikes lineup. However, it also confers strength and built-in flexibility that makes riding this e-bike more comfortable than you might expect.

The RadRunner 1 Electric Utility Bike focuses on simpler components in the stock model, which gives riders the ability to upgrade and customize their bike in the way they choose.

The 3.3” wide wheels are just wide enough to be able to handle bumpy terrain, but the RadRunner tends to be more of a city bike. Still, it’s good to know that it can handle potholes and curbs with ease!

Best for: Zipping through the urban jungle.

RadCity Step-Thru Electric Commuter Bike Version 3

rad power bikes review radcity - Luxe Digital

Swept-back handlebars; a stylish geometric feel; and the possibility for endless-seeming customization. The RadCity Step-Thru Electric Commuter Bike is—as its name might imply—built for urban cycling. It’s got power and aesthetics packed tightly into a slim frame for ultimate portability.

With an integrated rear rack and built-in fenders and lights, this bike is ready to tackle your commute with practicality. Carry what you need and enjoy a comfortable ride at the same time!

We found that the estimated range of 25-45 miles per charge was enough to sustain us through a solid week of riding. Charging your e-bike once a week for moderate use seems like a good trade-off to us, don’t you think?

Best for: A hybrid bike that can go the distance.

RadRover Electric Fat Bike Version 5

rad power bikes review radrover - Luxe Digital

The RadRover was the first e-bike that Rad Power Bikes made for commercial purposes. It’s also ready to provide the most versatility: It’s got a burly build, intelligent design, and huge, durable, 4” tires that can go just about anywhere.

Fenders on the front and back; mechanical disc brakes; a powerful 750W hub motor. If there were an SUV class of e-bikes, the RadRover would be it. The RadRover Electric Fat Bike also comes with a front suspension, which provides you with a cushioned feel even when you’re going off-road.

Best for: Riding off the beaten path.

RadMini Step-Thru Electric Fat Bike Version 2

rad power bikes review radmini - Luxe Digital

Need something even smaller than the slim RadRunner? The RadMini folds in half for extreme portability. You can pack it anywhere: Take it with you on a train, stow it in your trunk, or keep it stored away while at home if you live in a smaller space.

Even though it’s easily folded, the RadMini has a lot of power to share. It’s quick, it’s fuss-free, and it’s fast. The RadMini Step-Thru Electric Fat Bike has a front suspension, too, as well as a plush saddle—which makes it a joy to ride. If you want to customize the frame to cater to your lifestyle as well, you certainly can.

Best for: If you believe performance comes in small packages.

RadWagon 4 Electric Bicycle

rad power bikes review radwagon - Luxe Digital

Sometimes an e-bike is simply an e-bike. But when you’re looking for an e-bike that can truly do the job of a car—carry passengers, lots of groceries, and more—without the inconvenience of searching for a parking spot, the RadWagon is what you need.

With a 350-pound (158 kg) capacity, room for two kids in the back, an oversized rear rack, and more, the RadWagon 4 lives up to its name: It’s an e-cargo bike that is perfect for families or people who tend to tote around a lot during their everyday travels.

The rear rack even doubles as a bag holder or footrest for small ones—just one of the tiny design details that seem small but make a huge difference.

Best for: Riders who want the best of both worlds—ultimate carrying capacity and a tiny footprint.

RadMission Electric Metro Bike

rad power bikes review radmission - Luxe Digital

As the very latest model to be added to the Rad Power lineup, the RadMission is the cheapest and simplest—which makes it a perfect entry-level bike.

It’s got a single speed; it’s got a rigid fork; and it’s a hybrid—sustainable yet familiar. You have a twist-grip throttle to control, you’ve got an easily readable LED control panel, and you’ve got a motor that may be slightly lesser-powered than Rad Power’s other bikes, but the RadMission Electric Metro Bike certainly gets you where you need to go.

Best for: Cycling minimalists—or for those wishing to dip their toes in the e-bike trend.

The alternatives

Rad Power Bikes vs. Ride1UP

Although Rad Power Bikes is one of our favorite e-bike brands, we’ve reported on other stellar e-bike brands as well. How does Rad Power Bikes stack up against some of our other sustainable, stylish e-bicycle faves?

Rad Power’s lineup of impressive bikes is unique in many ways—for example:

  • Its bikes boast extra-wide tires—rare in the e-cycle world.
  • Its bikes offer loads of storage capacity.
  • The RadWagon can carry additional passengers or a trunk of groceries!
  • Rad Power offers ways to customise your bikes if you wish to build off the stock and make it your own.

Ride1Up’s bikes tend to look more traditional; there are bikes in their lineup that you wouldn’t be able to tell are actually electrically powered.
